Welcome to Gen Sou En Tea House.

Coming soon to Coolidge Corner in Brookline.

We’re Hiring
Tea Cup

Gen Sou En will deliver the full experience of a modern Japanese tea house—seamlessly blending traditional tea preparation with fresh, contemporary food pairings. Walk through the door and you’ll be met with clean design and an attention to detail that defines the Japanese way of caring for guests.

You’ll enjoy authentic Japanese green tea in a modern, beautiful space. Come in for breakfast and lunch. And after work, or on the weekend, meet friends for a drink or join us for a light dinner paired with sake, wine or beer. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Enjoy green tea the way it’s served in Japan

Gen Sou En Tea House brings 100 years of Japanese tea expertise to Boston—from the sourcing and blending of tea leaves to the meticulous preparation and artful presentation of every cup.

Choose from three signature green tea blends: umami (round and savory) kokumi (deep and full bodied) or shibumi (sharp and intense)—all prepared at the exact temperature and brewing time needed to extract the full, delicious flavor of each leaf.

Or try a matcha or hoji (toasted green tea) latte, two of the most popular drinks in Tokyo and Kyoto tea houses. You’ll also enjoy matcha in many of our Japanese-inspired sweet and savory treats.
